[BROOKLYN YAKUZA] – Tattoos have a long historical meaning within Japanese culture and it’s well known for its intricate details, craftsmanship and stories behind each design. In October I was invited to take part in painting a mannequin for @brooklynyakuzahk in Central, Hong Kong, based on Japanese tattoo design. Since I am no tattoo artist and it’s a field so specialised I decided to seek help from professional tattoo artists. Trying to incorporate traditional Japanese tattoo design with my style of work. Shout out to brothers from @marktattoohk, @tattooderekyip, @denfoktattoo, @suenanki and last but not least @mark_tattoohk. Tattoo design focuses a lot on how the design should flow with the geometry of the human body and how they can resonate together. It’s more than just painting something nice and putting them on parts of the body, it’s such a specialised skill and deserves a much greater respect than it currently holds. Thank you brothers for helping me out and taught me so much about the design process, and hopefully next time I can do a better job. xxxxx
